It’s Jeanine FOR THE WIN.
She sold me on that solo. GOD, the pirouettes into a paused attitude. Hello?! THAT alone should make her the winner. And that PASO. Katie Swick, THAT is what I’m talking about when I say Paso is my favorite Latin Dance. That was easily the best I’d ever seen.
I think Brandon was great. I think Kayla was great. I think Evan was decent. His dance with Brandon really showed his weakness, I thought. GOD HELP ME IF HE WINS. I’d be ok with anyone else beating Jeanine but not him. She just draws my attention no matter who is on stage with her. She’s got really strong features and just this presence. Plus, I dig her eyebrows. I know, that’s a weird thing to focus on, but they are black and thick and perfect. Just like her hair.
I’m not sure how I feel about them in the Kodak theater. On one hand, I love that the show has gained so much popularity that the finale can be in there but on the other it seemed to be distracting. I didn’t like the red everywhere. I think it took away from the dancers. The think I love so much about the SYTYCD set is that it’s a light silvery gray that lets the dancers and the costumes pop. That kinda got lost there.
But WHATEVS. Jeanine should win. Final. Done. THE END. I have spoken.
In other news, I partied like I was 22 on Saturday and I’m so NOT 22. You can peruse the pics below. It was loads of fun. I’ve been hearing around the office that some people are sad they weren’t invited but I DIDN’T DO THE INVITING, MAN! So Kristy and I will take it upon ourselves to plan a monthly outing with everyone who could ever possibly want to go and get their Karaoke on.

And Mikey’s birthday is this weekend. My family is coming over for dinner Saturday and Sunday we are going to dinner at Josephines. It’s this delicious traditional Italian restaurant, just like in the movies. The name is over the front door in cursive, the table clothes are red and white check and Italian music serenades you as you eat. And omg THE CANOLES. Faboo. We’ll have to get some photos when we are there because they don’t even have a website (the horror!).

Less dancing show, more me.
I hadn’t seen the Paso until after I read this blog so I hesitated on replying. I agree that Jeanine is amazing, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she won this. However, I still think Brandon is just SO good and strong, I can see him taking this as well. If it’s either one of those two, I’ll be happy. And no, I don’t think it’s weird to focus on her eyebrows – I have been, too.
I agree with Adam when he says that Kayla is one of the best dancers on the show, but did you notice how his comparison was to all the other great dancers that DIDN’T win? Yeah, I think they know that she’s not gonna take this.
Evan? Please. I’m still pissed that he edged out Ade in the finale. I know he’s got fans and blah blah blah, but for real? Everything he did tonight bored me, even his solo – and I usually LIKE his solos.
So yeah, Jeanine or Brandon, and I’m all happy. I really can’t decide between the two – I guess it’ll depend on who has more fans.
I’m glad you had such a good time last weekend! I can’t believe it’s Mikey’s birthday already. I’m sorry I didn’t get anything out this year – so I definitely owe him a gift! (Sorry Mike… you know I love you… I won’t forget you!). I’ll get a card out to him, though, if I can get to the store tomorrow.

Jeanine is a goddess! She has been my face since early on. Evan so obviously couldn’t keep up with Brandon. But I still want Evan to be my brother. I’ve never had one and he pretty much fits the bil,that sad-eyed sweetie. Brandon just reminds me of Carlton on The Fresh Prince of Bellaire. That’s what was annoying me so badly about him. I think Karla is this perfect dance machine but lacked the approacheable, realness, and personality to shine like Jeanine does. What I wouldn’t do to look just a little like Ms. Dark Horse herself.
Y’all. How bombtastic would it have been to see Ade and Brandon do the Nasty dance rather than Evan? FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK WHY WAS HE VOTED OFF.

I agree, when Evan stepped out on the stage tonight my heart sank. I so wanted Ade with Brandon. I so agree with you, Ali. BUT Jeanine. Oh Jeanine.
She has been my fave since the first show. There was just something about that girl. I’m rooting for her all the way. She has gotten so much stronger and she is a beautiful dancer. Her solo knocked my socks …Wow. I wanted to be dominated after watching that LOL!!!
And that Paso….damn. Both Jeanine and Brandon were equally balanced and awesome in that. I couldn’t tell who was better, it was so good. That’s how the Paso is supposed to be danced. I hope it’s Brandon and Jeanine. I’m laying my bet down for those two. I just hope Jeanine, Brandon, or Kayla wins. Really, I hope Jeanine…but anyone else is good. I’m just over Evan. Tonight just showed how much weaker he is compared to everyone else.
Happy early Birthday to Mike, and the Italian sounds supper yummy. Can’t wait to see the fun pics.
P.S. You’re not weird, I love her eyebrows, too. They’re so thick, dark, and aggressive looking. It’s hard not to notice them.

Girl, that “Nasty” dance with Ade over Evan would’ve been AMAZING! But as it was, it showed just how much Evan should NOT win this. Brandon slapped his ass all over that stage.
