Dishing With The Diva
So, we are 5 days into the New Year. The holidays went over like a blur. I know I experienced them and I have Christmas gifts, pics and video to prove it, but it feels like a lifetime ago. That’s how busy I was. I actually worked pretty much everyday of my vacation.
I’ll post an update with pics and all that razzmatazz later. Now, it’s on to pink dip.
See, a lot of you fine folks who read this blog have asked me “What is pink dip?” And I could totally give you the recipe. But Mike thought it would be more fun for me to reach into my way-back machine and evoke my TV-hosting experience and make a little YouTube vlog about it.
And there was the birth of Dishin’ With The Diva. It’s how we spent Saturday night instead of spending money we don’t have.
Its our first rodeo with this and we’ll probably change some things as we make more, but it was fun! And you guys can learn all about some of my favorite fat-kid things to eat!
On the list to make: crawfish cornbread, crawfish etouffee, gumbo, red beans and sausage, shrimp pizza dip, enchilada casserole, this incredible baked brie appetizer my aunt makes and lots more.
I’ll be talking about wine, too. The new ones I try and what I think would go best with some of these dishes. (Like I actually know what I’m talkin’ about or something.) Books may tell you something different than what I’m sayin’- but I’m just sharing what I like.
So, enjoy! Easy peasy PINK DIP!
Happy and exhausted-
-Ali
Your pink dip was a hit at my house this Chrimmus!
Totally awesome! I love this idea. Now I want me some pink dip.
)
And your hair is precious.
<3
That’s sounds sooooo good! I’ll definitely have to try that! I loved the whole video and I can’t wait to see more!
I love this idea!!
You’re so cute. Your hair is cute. And the dip, yum-o! Now I can finally try the infamous dip. I’m watching my weight, but I’m going to be bad for a day (shh) and do the regular
Thanks girly!
I’m having an old moment, I always forget something to write…lol
I love me some gumbo. I’m all up in that shit. I can’t wait to see the gumbo episode. Just sayin’. Makes Meg do the happy dance.
Girl.
Your lil apron is so cute on you! And you are rockin’ that hair.
Pink Dip! I used to make this all the time back in the day when I had a social life, but I’m sure I called it something really super-boring like Pace Cream Cheese Dip or some shit like that.
I’m so looking forward to more Dishin’ With The Diva. Bring it!!!!! Me likey.
I make that all the time. We call it Debbie dip. I add lots of jalapenos. Sorry I can’t learn anything from your cooking segments because I am such a good cook that I can make all those things already. Must run in the family!
Thank you all ladies!
First, my hair. I don’t know why it looks so cute, but I was apparently having a good hair day. Its the same hair cut I’ve had forever it just decided not to flop after 5 minutes.
Second, pink dip is so good. Dianne likes it with champagne. I like the best on the day after a drinking binge.
Nancy- I’m glad my traditions are stretching to California and beyond!
Meg and Marielle- thank you! I am actually totally psyched to do more now! Which will probably drive Mike crazy.
DaniG- Woman, we’re cajun. We come out of the vagina knowing how to cook. I’m just sharing it with the world. Also, your dad is the one who taught me the secret to great red beans and rice.
Oh and Dr. Ding! My sister gave me that apron cuz she knows what’s up. I also have the official Sweet Potato Queens apron and oven mitt.
I can’t wait for the crack crawfish cornbread episode!!!
How about instead of showing me how to make it, you come TO my house and make it FOR me?
Just a thought.
FIE! I am at work and I can’t see YouTube at work. (Cause maybe we’ll have an implosion or something.)
Note to self: Watch Ali’s video when I gets home.
Note to Ali: It’s a LONG ASS way back to the grocery store if’n I decide I need this tonight. Feel free to send a list ‘o ingredients to me. You know, just in case.
I just had some pink dip today, and it’s awesome! I am ready for more recipies!
