5 Years.
Mike and I first met 5 years ago today.
Our lives are so very different now and it took us a long time to get here, but it was so worth it. Even in the suckiest of times, I don’t think I would have changed anything because we learned so much each other. We’ve been through some serious shit and we still came out of it laughing and loving each other more.
We both have great jobs downtown. We live in a nice townhouse in a cool part of the city close to work. And we can afford to have some fun and enjoy ourselves without being so stressed about money. It’s a great feeling, but it’s even better after having had to struggle for so long. We appreciate it more. And each other more.
This is us, leaving for work like we do every morning. We drive together, try to have lunch together as often as possible and truly enjoy each other. He’s my best friend. He makes me laugh like no one else can and I totally love my life with him.

PS: Even in the new house, he makes me coffee breakfast and brings it upstairs to me while I’m getting dressed. Because he’s the bestest.
